Help Your Students Plan Ahead

Too many students wait until just before graduation to come to the Career Center. Encourage your students to use our services: resume critiques, interview practice, career counseling and more.

Students can stop by during drop-in hours (10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to noon on Fridays) or make an appointment for more in-depth help.

  • Invite Us to Your Classroom

Career Center counselors and peer advisors are available to deliver career presentations to campus groups, classes and student organizations. Submit your request at least one month before the desired program date. We require participation of at least 15 students.  Here are some options of what we offer:

    • Workshops/Presentation (e.g., Overview of Services, Resume Writing)
    • Employer Information Session (Company/Organization/graduate programs representatives come and share information such as their opportunities and application process)

  • Announce Our Workshops and Career Fairs
    Career Fairs Open Doors

Each year, the Career Center sponsors a number of Career Fairs. These are one-day recruiting events for firms in search of candidates for full-time, part-time and internship positions.

    Workshops & Information Sessions

Every quarter the Career Center offers over 70 workshops, information sessions, and networking events for students geared to help students from beginning to build their resume to those who have begun to plan for life after college. Information sessions allow students to meet and talk to representatives of top companies. Throughout the years there are many formal and informal networking events from coffee chats to etiquette dinners.

Check the Career Center calendar for any upcoming events that may address your students’ needs.

  • Help Students Stay On Track

If you would like to support your students’ career paths as they begin in college, direct them to our Freshman- Senior Game Plans and College-Specific Game Plans. These are timelines they can follow that will help them meet their career goals.
