Important Tip: Work-Study and LAEP positions will only be viewable by students who have received a Work-Study allocation. Be sure to select Yes to the question in the Job posting “Is this a Work Study job?” so that this position gets priority review and labeled correctly. Be sure to also include WORK-STUDY in the title of your job posting. On-Campus departments should post as an On-Campus Student Employment position and approved Off-Campus employers should post as a Part-Time Job.

Rehiring a Work-Study or LAEP-eligible student? Even if you are not needing to recruit for your position, you will still need to post your position on Handshake. Review the job posting guide(s) below and be sure to add “RESERVED WORK-STUDY” in the job title to ensure your position does not go live to students and is expired immediately after approval. 

New to Handshake? In an effort to keep UCR Handshake as straightforward as possible for students, each department should have their own company account. Visit https://app.joinhandshake.com/employer_registrations/new to create a new UCR Handshake profile (read more about how to Create a Handshake account).  Once you have signed up, you will receive an email to verify your information. Click on the link in the e-mail to finish the registration process. Important Tip: The next step is to create and/or join your department. First, search for your department in the company name field. If your department does not have an existing account, create an employer account by prefacing your campus department with UCR, e.g., UCR, Botany and Plant Sciences or UCR, Office of TRiO Programs. After you have finished creating a department profile or joining an existing department, you can connect with UCR in the "Schools" tab in UCR Handshake by searching for "Riverside." Your request to connect with UCR will be reviewed within 5 business days. 

Ready to post your position? Once your account/profile has been approved, you will be able to log into UCR Handshake and post a job. For assistance, view UCR Handshake's article "How do I post a job?". Important Tip: All on-campus jobs should be posted as an On-Campus Student Employment position. If you are open to hiring both Work-Study and non-work study students for your positions, please post the position twice: once as Work-Study and once as On-Campus Student Employment to allow for all students to view your opportunities.
