 Exploration
Universities are perfect environments for exploration of any kind. The Career Center at UCR has developed a variety of online and bibliographic resources to help you find out more about careers. Our Library provides an great starting place for researching majors, careers, graduate schools, and industry options. We are located in the Career Center in Veitch Student Center (In the same building as the Student Health Center!) We house career exploration resources, major-related books and handouts, publications about the structure of work, and detailed information about employers. As resources move into the 21st Century, more and more are being made available online at the Career Center Website.
We also encourage students to explore career paths by attending the many Info Sessions and Panels provided on campus by employers and alumni in various fields of endeavor. Career counselors can help students prepare for job shadowing or informational interviewing to give a fuller idea of what work is like.
