Internships

How Do I Receive Academic Credit?

Students enrolled at UCR may earn academic credit for their internships, or they may undertake them solely for professional development. The typical length of an internship for academic credit is 120 hours (approximately 12 hours per week for 10 weeks). Many students put in more than the minimum hours. Internships may include field study and research, but it is ultimately up to the departments at UCR whether or not credit can be allowed.

Like an internship, a co-op position may be taken for academic credit, but the student's commitment is longer than in an internship.
