Important Notice for Work-Study Students: Work-Study funds are available only for the academic year, therefore, you will be unable to view or apply for jobs during the summer. Jobs will be viewable beginning September 10, 2007 and you may begin working on September 24, 2007 (Please see the Work-Study Calendar for more important dates).

Work-Study Orientations will begin in September and presented quarterly which will provide you with valuable information about the procedures for obtaining a Work-Study position on and off-campus. What is Federal Work-Study? Work-Study is a program funded by the Federal Government that offers financial support to students with a demonstrated financial need. Eligible students may use the money awarded to them by obtaining a Work-Study job at the University or with an off-campus employer that the University has approved for the Work-Study program. Work-Study is offered during the academic year only.
Eligibility To be eligible for a Work-Study job, a student must meet the following criteria: - Demonstrate a financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress (e.g., at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA) while working under the Work-Study program.
How Do I Apply? - New students must file a FAFSA financial aid application and returning students must complete their renewal FAFSA no later than March 6, 2008.
- If you obtain Work-Study, you will receive a financial aid award notification that notes the gross earnings you can receive under the Work-Study Program via GROWL
- You may use your Work-Study award during the year or elect not to use it. If you decide not to use your award, you will not receive Work-Study in subsequent years, as funds are very limited.
Securing a Work-Study Job & Printing the Placement Form - Review available jobs using the on-line database, SCOTjobs
- All qualified Work-Study students have access to the on-line database
- Print a copy of the job description for all jobs you are interested in.
- Schedule interviews with potential employers as directed by posting.
- Print your Work-Study Placement Form and the job description PRIOR to the interview.
- If you are hired for an off-campus job, make an appointment with Financial Aid for your Letter of Clearance. This must be obtained prior to your start date.
