This knowledge base can be developed through internships, volunteering, and part-time jobs earned in summers or during the academic year.
Career Center counselors can provide consultation and resources to assist students who wish to pursue these types of activities. SCOTjobs lists hundreds of internships and part-time job opportunities for students and can be accessed online any time. The Resource Library at the Center houses periodicals, manuals, and other printed materials to assist. The On-Campus Interviewing program periodically hosts employers who are seeking interns for a range of challenging positions.
