Internships (Grads)

What Is an Internship and What Are the Benefits?

Internships offer learning experiences outside of the classroom and enhance academic and career goals, while helping you "test drive" a career path. By connecting academic experience to the professional work world, internships provide exposure to the workplace, opportunities for skill development, and a competitive edge in the job search.

How Do I Get Started?

Remember that Grads have a primary responsibility to their graduate advisor and department. The Career Center advises that Grads discuss the possibility of release time for internships before beginning a search.

The Center's Internship Orientation may help in understanding some of the mechanics of seeking and securing an internship.  While the orientations are designed for undergraduates, they will answer many questions for Grads as well.
